Internal laboratory tests
The biocidal effectiveness of Sani System and its duration in time has been analysed by the staff of the Microbiological Laboratory of Polti Medical Division.
The results showed that the largest reduction of bacterial load can be achieved by delivering the steam regularly at a rate of 30 seconds per square metre from a distance of 10 cm. These levels of sanitising are maintained for 24 hours.
Polti Sani System on "FRECCIAROSSA" trains at Rome Termini railway station, Italy
The Polti Sani System was used for sanitising purposes on the ETR500 "FRECCIAROSSA" trains at the Rome Termini station. Samples were taken from two different areas subject to serious bacterial contamination (a washbasin and a table) and were analysed using two different methods. The results showed that the treatment with the Polti Sani System had lowered the microbial load, making the surfaces sound and ready to be re-used without any risks for passengers.
- Evaluation of the kinetics of bactericidal effectiveness
Microbiological Laboratory, Polti Medical Division, Olgiate Comasco, Como, Italy
Based on results from quantitative microbiological testing by counting the total aerobic bacterial, it was proved that sanitisation with Sani System for 30 seconds per square metre ensures a very considerable reduction of the total bacterial load (93-99%) on all the surfaces tested (plastic, glass and leather).
- Evaluation of the duration in time of the bactericidal effectiveness of sanitisation
Microbiological Laboratory, Polti Medical Division, Olgiate Comasco, Como, Italy
The results of a quantitative microbiological test have shown that after treatment with Sani System, in standard environmental conditions and with no additional contamination, the total bacterial load remains below the safety limit of biological contamination for 24 hours.
